Hundreds of people lined the shores to welcome the Disney Dream to its new home. The 4,000-passenger luxury liner featuring the first ever “water coaster at sea” and other innovations cruised into the newly expanded, state-of-the-art port facility at sunrise accompanied by a flotilla of watercraft.
Meanwhile, the Disney Wonder prepares to bid adios to Port Canaveral on January 6, 2011 for the West Coast. On its way, it will sail a cruise traversing the Panama Canal, and then ultimately begin her voyages to the Mexican Riviera and Alaska for 2011.
To Launch the new cruise ship, Disney is offering special price incentives to all U.S. Military (active, retired, reserves, and guard) as well as all DOD, NSA, FBI and NASA employees and all Florida residents to kick off her maiden season eventually sailing to destinations in the Caribbean. The Disney Dream will sail 3-, 4- and 5-night cruises to the Bahamas beginning with its maiden voyage on Jan. 26, 2011.
