The snow’s all gone?
That’s what many Midwesterners and New Englanders are in the midst of asking themselves as this has certainly been a winter season of “all right already”! As well as “Enough is Enough”. Now we out here in the hither-lands can begin to really comprehend how such sayings sprang forth.
But it’s a question that begs to be asked. Now that we can rely on the roads being once again really passable (for longer than a 3 day weekend), and the Airports seem to be back to normal (whatever that really means), and The Trains and Buses are boarding once again. Where will you be heading out to? What will your yearnings take you to do now that spring thaw seems to maybe, kinda, just might start inching its way back to your lifetime once again?
Well as for me, I have a group of school district employees to take out on a “spring break cruise”. (check out all the blogs, pics, and vids) I know you generally probably don’t hold much sympathy for us in the Sun Belted Desert Southwest, but imagine never getting a snow day, or being able to call in late, or out totally for work because your car is snowed in, or your hill is a sheet of ice. (As for us first we have no snow, ice, nor hills for that matter). So as you might envision, taking a group of cooped up (no time off) school teachers out to sea for what they plan as a weeklong recess, may be more than this old man can manage!
I look back on times when first pondering the move here, just how cool I thought it would be to live in a place where I could ride my motorcycle all year round (Laugh Out Loud) and never had to worry about changing my clocks back and forth twice a year. WAY WRONG on all counts!!! Where most folks are unable to ride during the frozen winter months, we here forfeit the unbearably hot summer months. As being in the travel business world I find myself with clients and prospects either located or traveling in practically every time zone around the world, which requires that I not only know the unchanging time here, but the reactionary difference on the location, destination, an connection on the other end.
Ok enough about me, I’d really love to hear from you. Maybe you might have an idea or two for that great escape! Maybe even some plans for that ultimate motorcycling adventure, or maybe it’s a camping or national park trek with the Family. Or maybe your plans call for a hiking or backpacking adventure into solitude for some much needed me time! Whatever it may be, please take a moment and tell us where you might be heading out to and what kind of activities you’ll be doing. And if you don’t have any real plans, where on earth would you like to go, or what would you rather be doing if not at home!
We will track and compile all of the responses, which could make for some exciting reads for a future Blog posting. But we can’t do it, if we don’t hear from you!! So let us know where you are heading out to, or even where you dream to go to!
