Golden Princess, A Retrofit (Remodel) Review

A Priceless Retrofit

For a “Golden Princess”

First placed into service in May of 2001, Princess Cruise lines (Grand Class of Ships) “Golden Princess” set sail into the glorious fame of the Princess Fleet. Recently having undergone a complete retrofit in April of 2009 in the British Columbia port of Victoria, she now returns in true Grand Style, with many newly added features and amenities. Speaking of Princess Style, maybe you would wish to view a short video on how they best describe their “escape completely” ideas (click here to view the video).

First, is the wonderful grand public area known as the Atrium. Complete with its Italian inspired “Piazza” area, with delightful food, drink, and architecture that would make you think you are strolling somewhere in old Napoli. Complete with all of the openness and local flair that is found there.

Also you will find the newly created Vines Cafe, and Vines Gourmet  Shop venues, which is both a delight for the eyes as well as the palate. You get to watch the chef’s at work as they prepare your delicacies to suite your tastes and then serve it up directly to you, directly from off the prep table. You will also find the just recently completed International Café, as well as which offers the very best in culinary and vintage wines to suite everyone’s desires.

In order to accomplish the renovations to the newly constructed ”Sanctuary” area which is a exclusive (adult only) retreat first debuted on Princess’s very latest class of ships, but is now being incorporated into their retrofitting plans. In order to be able to accomplish this redesign, it required the relocation of the “sports court” area, which has been completely redone as well.

This ship will also include their “Under the stars Movies” feature, and has completely relocated to another deck their Grand Casino, along with a Newly Refined Crown Grill Restaurant. All in all, this is certainly a ship, worthy of a visit, even if (and especially) you have sailed her previously so you can be able to see and enjoy all of the new appointments.

You may also review a video which will show you just how they accomplished all of the remodeling in such a short period of time. Which you can check out, in its entirety by (just clicking here).
